"“If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water.” – Loren Eiseley"
Though my wardrobe has always been a study in black, white and the grey in between ever since I was allowed to pick my own clothes, if you asked me what defines my art I would not hesitate to tell you it is color. Whether I am working on a digital painting or a watercolor illustration, color is as much the subject as is what I am depicting. As an only child growing up in many countries in...
... various continents, I could spend hours by myself watching ants, digging through dirt in search if interesting insects, or watching fish and other creatures swim in a tidal pool. It is this fascination with nature as I watched in silence and vividly imagined the secret lives of animals and unseen gnomes, which now drives me to spend my free time “arting” as my husband calls it.
This is my love of color and nature filtered through the creations of a solitary, but content, mind. The creations of having spent 20 years working underwater as a commercial diver and now on land in an environmental capacity. I am reminded on a daily basis how important the protection of our environment is, and the best way I can express it is through art.
