Technique - I draw with with a pencil (graphite), using a palette of white to black and all the tonal variations between. This allows me to explore complexity in texture and shape in seemingly simple images. It is the effect of light and the shadows it creates that define my images...not lines. I use one pencil grade (2B) to create all of my work, using varying pressure to achieve a broad range of shadings.
Vision - My artistic touch is the final element in the process. When I view an image and apply the pencil to the board, it is my vision of the image that is brought to life.
My drawings are elegant, delicate, and powerful…not an easy combination to achieve. When you look closely at my work, mark every detail. That is where the life of my art truly is.
Recognition - Over the years, I have won the Best of Show-Drawing award four times in The Uptown Art Fair, Minnesota’s national show. My work has been displayed in over 300 juried art fairs throughout the Midwest.
