Title: Abbaye de Senanque, Provence, 17 x 10 5/8

Description: The Abbaye Notre Dame de Senanque is a Cistercian Abbey near the town of Gordes in Provence, southern France. The abbey has been home for a community of Cistercian monks since 1148, except for some brief times during its long history. An order of monks still lives in the Abbey, where they live according to the rule of Saint Benedict, gathering together in the abbey church seven times a day to pray. To support the abbey, the monks cultivate lavender, olives and honey, and host spiritual retreats. Set in a pristine valley, covered in fields of lavender, the abbey makes for a wonderful visit where you can catch a glimpse of the calm spirituality of monastic life. The painting is framed in a beautiful mahogany finished wood frame with black accent trim. The frame is 1 1/2" wide. The painting comes ready to hang, with hanging wire attached.
