I weave on a variety of manual looms, with tartans produced exclusively on one of my four-harness floor looms. Everything is done by hand, from threading the loom (warping) to casting the shuttles (weaving the weft) to finishing the item by hand or with a sewing machine. ... woven using New Zealand Merino Wool dyed to authentic tartan colors, that is not always the case. I enjoy utilizing cooler natural materials such as Bamboo and Silk, both of which hold the rich colors of the tartan, weave sharp lines for the design, and drape well when worn.
