... enthusiastic excitement for painting. It was then that JoAnna's sensual creativity erupted, and as an emerging, self-taught artist, JoJo is filled with an overflowing, inner passion to paint. "Passion", derived from the Greek word, “páthos” (“πάθος”), has more than one meaning; i.e., suffering; the intense motivation or need to express feelings. The natural ebb and flow of the passionate energies and emotions JoAnna possesses and feels, allow her to sense colors. JoAnna finds herself searching within to select a variety of colors to design abstract paintings. Using her hands, a torch, a heat gun, along with feathers from her Blue and Gold Macaw she adopted, "Brocci", (hence, "Brocci's Feather, LLC", the name of her company) and the blending of Resin and various Mica Pigments together, synergistic effects and abstracts are formed through painting. JoJo finds herself enthralled, lost in the moment, embracing her gift of creativity; painting a piece of her life, whether it be surviving the trials of her past, where she is going in the future, or through JoAnna's thoughts and feelings, her purpose for today...living life’s journey, to withstand and overcome its vicissitudes, while creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces.

In less than a year, three of JoAnna's paintings have been selected in competitions to be exhibited in an online art gallery (LightSpaceTime.art). JoAnna also received awards for each of the competitions and has been invited to display her artwork in an online art gallery in France, Artmajeur.

JoAnna's artwork is how she sees herself, values and honors herself, how JoJo views a situation she may experience, or a depiction of “her story” from her childhood or past; a self-reflection. JoAnna's passion is always present. Growing up being “mixed", or of multi-cultural races, in a predominantly all-white community, could have hindered JoJo from experiencing a beautiful life. Rather, JoAnna has always chosen to see a person for “who they are” and to love herself! JoJo's eyes are the windows to her soul. JoAnna's innate, caring compassion and love for life, as well as her exuberant personality, have always been the catalysts to shape and mold her to become who she is today. As JoAnna works in Chicago, she continues to build countless relationships with many people from all walks of life, those who may be homeless, those who have lost their eyesight, people who work in hospitals, law firms, those of different cultures and religions, or some of whom are similar to herself. “Why Fit In When You Were Born To Stand Out” (a quote by Dr. Seuss), has encapsulated JoAnna to love herself, embrace life and live life to its fullest.
