Friendly and curious, Chickadees enjoy the company of other bird species and are also amiable to humans. But they are also small and quick, seldom pausing for more than a brief moment. Their well known “chick-a-dee-dee-dee” appears to be cheerful in nature but is in fact a warning call. This little bird may seem delicate but is feisty and resilient, able to flourish in harsh climates.
