Description: Montepulciano is a medieval and renaissance town in Tuscany, Italy. It sits high atop a hill (like most medieval towns) overlooking the rolling hills of the Val d’Orcia area of Tuscany. This is wine country, and the town offers stunning views of the surrounding vineyards. The town is well known for its Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, an excellent red wine. Piazza Grande is at the center of the town. Depicted in this painting is Palazzo Tarugi on the right and the Mayor’s palace on the left.
