Description: Overlooking the town of Bacharack is Burg Stahleck, one of the many castles up and down the Rhine River in western Germany. Stahleck is translated as “impregnable castle on a crag". It was destroyed in the 17th century and rebuilt on the 20th century. Today it serves as a hostel. This section of the Rhine, the Middle Rhine has a fairy tale quality to it. The beautiful countryside, the valley carved by the river, the castles, the boats floating up and down, and the quaint villages make this a fun and charming place to visit.
