Title: The Ancient Ones 20 x 30

Description: This image is a composite of two photos. The first is a picture of the California redwoods taken in 1973 with an instamatic camera. The second photo is of the Platte River in Colorado taken in 2008. The blending of the two pictures creates at dramatic scene of forest and water. Here is a technique tip: The sunrays were created by using two layers of the forest. The top layer is the original image, but the bottom layer is several shades lighter in color. I used the eraser tool on the top layer to expose the bottom layer, thus the ‘sunrays.’ Limited edition of 150.
