"Organized randomness keeps the process uncertain yet exciting."
Hi, Alli Farkas here, currently working on the next iteration of my oil on canvas "Sky Pads" series of waterlily interpretations. I always allow a series to take me wherever it wants to go, which is why this series is varied, never boring, and keeps me pushing through to new discoveries and techniques. I've been drawing and painting at least since I was 5. I got my degree in studio art...
... from Occidental College in Los Angeles, and supplemented that with art center classes and workshops.
"Relaxing", "peaceful", "quiet", "soothing" are common responses to Sky Pads, along with "the colors", "misty quality", "depth", "looking through layers to see everything". Most visitors to my art fair booth stick around for a significant amount of time just to bask in the comforting atmosphere.
I received the "Best in Show" award twice at Wellfield Bontanical Gardens "Taste of the Gardens" event in Elkhart, Indiana. I received the "Outstanding Achievement in Oil Painting" award at two Amdur Productions art festivals.
