Title: The Four Horses of St. Mark

Description: Climb the stairs to the second floor of St. Mark’s Basilica in Venice, Italy to view the original four Horses of St. Mark; also known as the Triumphal Quadriga, They are a set of bronze statues originally part of a monument depicting a quadriga (a four-horse carriage used for chariot racing). My drawing captures their fiery spirits while softening their profile through the medium of graphite. Framing is textured dark brown wooden frame w/black undertones and double white matting (17x26.5").
