My work is watercolor Batik a resist form of painting. I alternate layers of 400 degree hot wax and watercolor paint on a rice paper surface until complete. All wax is carefuly removed revealing layers of images. I am constantly pushing the limits with this unforgiving medium. My subjects range from florals to landscapes to abstracted shapes often using bold bright colors. My current work...
... involves saving the remains of the original piece creating a reverse of the original. This process creates a beautiful monochromatic and peaceful contemporary work of art. I often work in a series as this pushes you into a fantastic area of expression and passion. I continue to push the boundries of my watercolor and wax resist painting and often discover that the amount of layers can be limitless.
